Hide all the drives from My Computer
or
How to Hide the drives(c:,d:,e:,...etc) in My Computer

This is a great trick you can play on your friends. To disable the display of local or networked drives when you click My Computer.

::~STEPS~::
  1. Go to Start -> Run.
  2. Type regedit
  3. Now go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
  4. Now in the right pane, create a new DWORD item and name it NoDrives (it is case sensitive).
  5. Now modify it's value and set it to 3FFFFFF (Hexadecimal) .
  6. Now restart your computer.
  7. So, now when you click on My Computer, no drives will be shown(All gone...).
To enable display of drives in My Computer, simply delete this DWORD item that you created. Again restart your computer. You can now see all the drives again.

To Disable the Access to USB port, in windows Vista / XP follow the steps below:

* Goto Start and click on Run and type Regedit, and then click OK.
* In the registry menu Locate and then click the following registry key:
* HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UsbStor
* In the right hand pane double-click Start as shown in the image below.
* In the Value data box, type 4 and then click OK.
* Quit Registry Editor and refresh your desktop.

NOTE : You can Re-enable your USB port to accept pen drive by following the same procedure and changing the value to 3.

REMOVE BACKGROUND FROM PHOTOS USING MICROSOFT OFFICE

Now you can use Microsoft Office to easily remove background from digital photographs. Microsoft Office 2010 has intelligent image editing tools that can help you extract images from complex or cluttered backgrounds.

Adobe Photoshop and other popular image editing software like GIMP have tools like background eraser or extract filters that allow you to erase complicated background images from digital photos. However, now Microsoft Office has in-built image editing features that include background removal options. Thus you can do some of the advanced image editing stuff without having to use Photoshop.

~~Procedure~~
1. Simply drag and drop the image you wish to edit into Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Outlook.
2. Click on Picture Tools or Format tab and choose Remove Background. The unwanted portions of the image like background and other distracting details will be automatically removed.

OR
You can use the automatic background removal or you can further refine the areas to remove by drawing lines to indicate what portions to keep and what portions to remove.

Once you have chosen the areas to remove,
3. Click on Keep Changes to remove background.
4. To save the new image, simply right-click on the image and choose Save as Picture and you can save the edited image as JPG or PNG to your hard drive.

Thus we have learned the simplest way to remove background from images without having to use digital image editing software like Photoshop.
