John the Ripper –

John the Ripper is a fast password cracker, currently available for many flavors of Unix (11 are officially supported, not counting different architectures), Windows, DOS, BeOS, and OpenVMS. Its primary purpose is to detect weak Unix passwords. Besides several crypt(3) password hash types most commonly found on various Unix flavors, supported out of the box are Kerberos AFS and Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 LM hashes, plus several more with contributed patches. several more with contributed patches.

MDCrack –

MDCrack is a free featureful password cracker designed to bruteforce several commonly used hash algorithms at a very aggressive speed rate. It can retrieve any password made of up to 16 characters and allowing up to 55 characters with an additionnal user salt. In order to achieve the highest possible speed rate, this program uses several cores for each algorithm it supports. Each one of these cores provides a different level of optimization dynamically selected at run time to best adapt with changing candidates length. To date, this program supports bruteforce attacks for 21 algorithms: MD2, MD4, MD5, HMAC-MD4, HMAC-MD5, FreeBSD, Apache, NTLMv1, IOS and PIX (both enable and user) hashes, Invision Power Board 2.x (IPB2), MD4MD4, MD4MD4S, MD5MD5, MD5MD5S, PHP, PHPS, CRC32, CRC32B, ADLER32 the list of algorithms is growing up.

How to make a 4 column blogger template

In this tutorial we will be making a 4 column blogger template based on a two column originally designed by Douglas Bowman so i recommend you create a new blog for this tutorial using the following template

Now we have our template we need to find the header-wrapper CSS code and change the width from 660px to 100% or 990px like ive done below

Now we have that done we need to look for the outer-wrapper code and change the width from 660px to 990px and the padding from 10px to 0 like ive done in the following screenshot

Now find the main-wrapper and change it from 410px to 450px unless you want your main post body to stay 410px wide also ive added a margin of 20px

Now im going to rename the sidebar-wrapper to left-column and change the width to 170px and the float to left because it is going to be a left column although you dont have to rename it but it helps see screenshot below

Now we have that done we need to change the XHTML code for the column so find the following XHTML code and change the name from sidebar-wrapper to left-column also move it above the main-wrapper see screenshot below (click the image for a larger view)

Now that is done we add the CSS code for our new columns so copy the following CSS code

Important: include the point and nothing before that!

Now wen you will see that the icon of tht folder has changed(No name) to My computer Icon.Now Make a shortcut to that folder, change the target and icon and you have a nameless shortcut.

I tested it on XP so I have no idea that it will work on 98,ME....

How to test whether your XP is orignal or not.

This helps you to prevent the Computer Vendor fooling you and taking a 250 bucks etc claiming that he has installed orignal Windows XP on your PC. Check out this test.
Open your Run [Start > Run or Win key + 'R']

Type 'oobe/msoobe /a' and hit enter.

If activated, it will give you the message that 'Windows Already Activated... Click OK To Exit' else it will ask you the license code to activate the Windows OS.

Change administrators password without knowing old password

-- right click on my computer....
--click on "manage",
--new window of "Computer Management" will get open.,
--now on the left side of the window...click on "Local Users and Groups",
--now on the right side double click on "users", then
--right click on "Administrator".then
--click on "set password"...
--then just change it....n then njoy.....

u can also change it by login with any account other then Admin account

How to burn quicker in win xp:-

WIN XP has burning software built in, which can cause problems sometimes when burning with other programs.

So you can turn windows xp burning tool off like this.

1. Go to "administrative tools" in the control panel.

2. In the "services" list, disable the IMAPI CD-Burning COM service.

How to fix corrupted files in XP:-

This tutorial has been made so people that are having problems with corrupted files, can learn how to fix them easy.

Required:

1. Windows XP operating system
2. Windows XP cd

Now, follow this steps:

1. Place the xp cd in your cd/dvd drive
2. Go to start
3. run
4. type in 'sfc' (without the ')

Now it should all load, and fix all your corrupted file on win XP.

GETTING BACK MISSING FOLDER OPTIONS

Open Run and then type "gpedit.msc".

Now goto User Configuration > Administrative templates > Windows Component > Windows Explorer.

Click on Windows Explorer you will find the 3rd option on the right side of screen "Removes the

Folder Option menu item from the Tools
menu"

Just check it, if it is not configured then change it to enable by double clicking on it and after applying again set it to not configured.

I hopes that you will find the option after restarting windows.

Removing Multiple Boot Screens

If you are getting unwanted multiple boot screen
Then Follow these Steps.
1> Right Click on My Computer
2>Select Properties
3>Select Advanced Tab
4>Select Settings In the Startup & Recovery Section(3rd grp)
5>Select the operating system which u want.
6>And Click OK.
7>Further again press the setting and click on Edit.
8>It will open boot.ini File.
9>Now u can delete those o/s which you don't want to be displayed.
Note: For deleting operating systems from boot.ini file, keep
it mind that you can't
delete that o/s which is selected by default there. Before

Enabling Multiple forms in ASP.NET

The ASP.NET Control/PostBack Architecture is excellent for most Web . Running C/C++ [old DOS programs] in Windows Vista / 7 in Fullscreen Mode

I'm now using Windows 7 the new Windows OS which is working fine with my PC. It was a long time i had installed Turbo C++ in my system. That was our exam times, i tried installing Turbo C++ in my system. It worked fine but only one problem is that full screen mode is disabled. My monitor is of 1440x900 resolution so that theTurbo C++ screen fit in 1/4th of the total window more than that the graphics programs are not working... because in cant initialize the graphics object. After a lot of searching i found a software it was DOSBOX. DOSBox emulates an Intel x86 PC with sound, graphics, mouse and more. DOSBox emulates a 286/386 CPU, supports realmode amd protected mode, has a full virtual file system, support for XMS and EMS, graphics support including Tandy/Hercules/CGA/EGA/VGA/VESA and sound support including SoundBlaster and Gravis Ultra Sound cards. It has excellent compatibility with many classic games.

Install Windows 7/Vista From USB Drive

Follow the below steps to create bootable Windows 7/Vista USB drive using which you can install Windows 7/Vista easily.

1. Plug-in your USB flash drive to USB port and move all the contents from USB drive to a safe location on your system.

2. Open Command Prompt with admin rights. Use any of the below methods to open Command Prompt with admin rights.

3. You need to know about the USB drive a little bit. Type in the following commands in the command prompt:

First type DISKPART and hit enter to see the below message.

Bootable USB Drive

Next type LIST DISK command and note down the Disk number (ex: Disk 1) of your USB flash drive. In the below screenshot my Flash Drive Disk no is Disk 1.

4. Next type all the below commands one by one. Here I assume that your disk drive no is “Disk 1”.If you have Disk 2 as your USB flash drive then use Disk 2.Refer the above step to confirm it.

So below are the commands you need to type and execute one by one:

SELECT DISK 1

CLEAN

CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY

SELECT PARTITION 1

ACTIVE

FORMAT FS=NTFS

(Format process may take few seconds)

ASSIGN

EXIT

Don’t close the command prompt as we need to execute one more command at the next step. Just minimize it.

5. Next insert your Windows7/Vista DVD into the optical drive and check the drive letter of the DVD drive. In this guide I will assume that your DVD drive letter is “D” and USB drive letter is “H” (open my computer to know about it).

6. Maximize the minimized Command Prompt in the 4th step.Type the following command now:

D:CD BOOT and hit enter.Where “D” is your DVD drive letter.

CD BOOT and hit enter to see the below message.

7. Type another command given below to update the USB drive with BOOTMGR compatible code.

BOOTSECT.EXE/NT60 H:

Where “H” is your USB drive letter. Once you enter the above command you will see the below message.

8. Copy your Windows 7/Vista DVD contents to the USB flash drive.

9. Your USB drive is ready to boot and install Windows 7/Vista.

10 Tricks With A USB Thumb Drive

Any ordinary USB memory device can do a lot more than you probably thought it could. It can carry programs, encryption and even a full installation of Windows XP! Here is our tenlist for the coolest things you can do with a USB thumb drive:

Take your programs with you

We all know how frustrating it is when we take your files to another computer just to discover that the software required to read the files is not installed.

Here’s the simplest solution – take your programs with you – on your USB thumb drive. Here’s how to do it with Portable Apps:

1. Go to the Portable Apps website and download the installer, choosing the software you want to carry along.

2. Run the installer and install the software to the root of your USB thumb drive.

And you’re done! As soon as you connect your thumb drive into a computer, Portable Apps will open up automatically.

Surf anonymously

With Portable Apps and Firefox, you can surf the web without leaving any trace on the computer you are using. If you want extra security, install a Firefox security plugin such as FoxyProxy. To iput Firefox onto the drive, just copy-paste the Firefox folder from you computer, or install Firefox onto the thumb drive.

Set a program to run automatically (autorun)

Using autorun, you can set a program to start up automatically when you connect the drive to a computer. You can also use the same script for a data CD-ROM. Note that some computers have autorun disabled for security purposes. [Here's how to disable autorun.]

Open up notepad and paste the following script:

Make sure you replace filename with the full path to the file. For example, a file called program.exe in a folder called “programs” on the thumb drive would be /programs/program.exe

Replace description with a short description of the program, for example, My Jukebox or Mozilla Firefox.

Save the file as autorun.inf, making sure you select “All Programs” from the save menu, not “Text document”!

A good idea is to encrypt all the information on the drive, but you would still want it back, wouldn’t you? Luckily, the folks at the Daily Cup Of Tech have come up with a solution.

Help! Im lost! - Windows XP tips & tricks

Save a program called “Help! I’m Lost!” on the drive, that a finder just can’t get around opening. The program opens a message box with your personal “I’m lost” message. It’s a good idea to offer the finder a bigger reward than the drive itself, so that they’ll be interested in contacting you.

Hide the drive inside something

Why not surprise your friends and co-workers by sticking something that looks like a broken USB cable into the computer’s USB drive?

You’ll be sure to get a few shocked faces when you start to play a movie from it.

Secure your PC

Just like with an RFID badge, you can use a USB drive to lock and unlock a PC. Insert it to begin working and pull it out when you’ve finished, locking the computer. There are several programs for this . Rohos, a commercial program and WiKID, a semi-open source one.

If you really need to secure your computer with a USB drive, I suggest you give Rohos a try, as WiKID is rather complicated.

Portable jukebox

Don’t just carry the music with you, also carry the player! You can install audio programs such asWinAmp and CoolPlayer+ on your thumb drive. Just unextract the ZIP folders to the USB drive.

If you want the jukebox to start up automatically when you connect the memory stick to the computer, use the autorun feature shown tip 3 and point it to the exe of your audio player.

Encrypt your data

If you carry any sensitive indormation on your USB memory stick, a good idea is to encrypt it. Hardware-level encryption will help, but it will cost extra. You can get a free program to encrypt your data just as securely. For this I recommend TrueCrypt, but most others will also do.

You will need admin access on the computer you want to use your encrypted thumb drive on, so this it’s usability a little.

Run a standalone OS for dedicated tasks

The easiest OS to boot from a USB drive is probably Linux. There are many small capacity Linux versions out there that will fit on your drive. The best 3 are Puppy Linux, Damn Small Linux andWebconverger.

Make sure you select a version that needs less space than your USB drive’s maximum, so you have room for files and software.

And this leads us nicely to the final tip…

Run Windows itself from a USB thumb drive
Modifying Windows to work on a USB drive is quite difficult, but luckily there are some tools that will do it for us. Note that you will need a separate Windows license for this, as Microsoft only lets you use one for each single computer, and a USB drive is treated by them like a computer…

What you’ll need:

A licensed copy of Windows
A USB device, min. 1GB (We recommend a USB hard disk, as a flash memory stick will become unusable after 100000 writing processes. Assuming that only 2 processes are used per second, the drive will last only 60 days with 8 hours of work each day… A hard disk doesn’t have this problem.)
